Welcome to the Montessori School of East Orlando

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for coming to our website!  It is a privilege for me to write this letter, opening the door for you to see our school.

The Montessori School of East Orlando (MSEO) is in East Orlando, Florida.  Our mission is to provide a superior educational experience for primary and elementary-aged children utilizing the Montessori methods of teaching and learning.  It is our goal to address the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth of each child entrusted to our care.  With a strong foundation in these areas, your child will develop the skills to become a self-directed learner, flexible thinker, creative problem solver, and it will support an ever-increasing curiosity about the world in which we live.  MSEO seeks diversity in enrollment, in the belief that a child benefits from interacting with children of various talents and backgrounds.

Dr. Maria Montessori stated, "The secret of good teaching is to regard the child's intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown, to grow under the heat of flaming imagination. Our aim is not only to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as to enthuse him to his innermost core. We do not want complacent pupils, but eager ones. We seek to sow life in the child rather than theories, to help him in his growth, mental and emotional as well as physical, and for that we must offer grand and lofty ideas to the human mind."  This is a quote concisely pulling together the main philosophy behind the Montessori methods, on which our school was built.

Every child is unique, and our Montessori faculty is trained and committed to nurturing those unique qualities of each child.  In addition, our focus on the performing arts as an integral part of every student’s education, including classes in drama, ballroom dance, hip hop, voice, and visual arts, provides every single student—regardless of ability or interest—an opportunity to develop their talents fully and realize their true potential.

In our family-like atmosphere, strong relationships are built between the teacher and child and between the parents and school.  We believe these partnerships are essential for a fulfilling educational experience.  We invite you, as parents, to become active participants in our learning community.  Whether you participate in our lectures and workshops or volunteer to help with class projects, activities, and events or on field trips, we welcome your commitment to your child’s education.

This website will give you a taste of the MSEO, but no one truly brings to life the excitement of our Montessori school better than the students and teachers themselves. We welcome your interest and invite you to please join us for a tour and see and hear for yourself the buzz of learning. We look forward to meeting you!
