“We were completely blown away with what MSEO has to offer.”
We just moved to east Orlando from Los Angeles and my husband and I really wanted to find a great Montessori school for our extremely bright and creative five-year-old son.
I was looking for great academics; my husband really wanted to find a school with a large outdoor area where he could release some of his boundless energy during recess. We were completely blown away with what MSEO has to offer.
Not only is the primary classroom complete, bright and spacious, the school on more than 3 acres, with a HUGE outside area for playing and exploration. There is a butterfly garden, separate building housing a theater and library, and there are many animals that live on the premises as well: chickens, cats, peacocks, peahens, and miniature horses. My son is delighted!
Although it's a small school, they have many programs, too. All students, including primary, learn ballroom dance. Elementary students also do yoga and other athletics before school starts, which I've read is an excellent way to improve student concentration. This year they are also offering stringed instrument lessons (violin, etc).
We are very new to the school, but so far we love it. He really likes his teacher, Miss Leila, and I am very happy with the fact that she sends her tracking charts home every week so that I can see exactly what he's working on.
I'll post another update in a few months after we've had more time to settle in, but having a happy boy to pick up at the end of the day is the best!
